Canada’s new Entrepreneur Pilot is coming in 2026

A new federal pathway for immigrant entrepreneurs is replacing the Start-up Visa, which closed to new applicants on December 31, 2025.

The program will be similar in spirit but more targeted in scope. IRCC will publish full details, eligibility, application procedures, and launch timing during 2026.

Priority for entrepreneurs in Canada

IRCC will favor applicants holding a valid Canadian work permit
